Katherine Fox Dembo
July 10, 1959 - November 27, 2013
Kathy passed away on November 27, 2013 after nearly a three year struggle with metastatic breast cancer. Kathy was born in Trenton, Ontario in 1959 and grew up in Niagara Falls, where she graduated from A.N. Myer Secondary School. She obtained a B.S.L. (Laurentian), B.Ed. (Western) and an M.A. (UBC). She taught in Ontario (Norwich, Sudbury) and BC (Delta). Most recently Kathy was a French immersion teacher at Burnsview Secondary School in North Delta.
Kathy is survived by her devoted husband, Stevyn Dembo. Her sons Lukas, Roman and Adam Tassone brought her great joy and they will dearly miss their mother. Her parents Ludwig and Inge Fox, her brother Andrew (Verna) and her nieces mourn her passing. Kathy will be deeply missed by her family in Kelowna, Oshawa, California and Germany. She touched many lives and had a network of friends across Canada, the US and Europe, who supported her through challenging times.
Her joyful spirit, loving nature, and her love for Jesus Christ, will be celebrated at a Memorial Service at South Delta Baptist Church at 1988 56 Street, Tsawwassen, BC on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 3:00 pm.
Kathy asked that donations be made to the Dalit Freedom Network Canada (www.dalitfreedom.net), in lieu of flowers.
