John 'Jack' McCullough
May 30, 1931 - May 11, 2014
It is with great sorrow we announce the death of beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather John (Jack) McCullough.
Jack will be lovingly missed by his wife Bernie, their children Jack (Kim), Bill (Ginny), Anne (Christian) and Tracey, grandchildren Evan, Erick, Liam, Hannah, Justin, Kaare, Aaron and Paige. He will also be missed by many friends.
Jack was born in Belfast, Ireland on May 30, 1931 and married Bernie in England, on October 19, 1954. He worked at Harland & Wolff and Rolls Royce until he and Bernie moved their young family to Renfrew, Ontario in 1970, to start a new life outside of their troubled homeland.
Following a time as Manager of the Whitehouse Hotel, Jack and Bernie moved to Ottawa, where he opened "Jacks Place" corner store. They enjoyed a close connection with their loyal clientele for many years. Jack and Bernie moved to Ladner in 2011 to be closer to their Westcoast family.
Jack had a beautiful soul, always upbeat, the heart of a warrior, quick to song and whistle and a great sense of humour.
Rest in peace Jack; you will be forever in our hearts.
In Jack’s memory, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers.
