He passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013 in Delta, BC. <br /> <br />Garfield MacDonald is predeceased by his wife, Frances (MacMaster) MacDonald, his mother, Bertha Mary Phalen and his father, Augustine George McDonald; siblings, Rita (McDonald) Ferguson, Frances (McDonald) O&rsquo;Handley, Margaret (McDonald) Nearing, Hughie McDonald, Teresa (McDonald) Wadden, Louis McDonald and David McDonald. <br /> <br />He is survived by his sister, Mary (McDonald) Jellusich, his brother, Kevin McDonald, Pat (Edstrum) McDonald, Hazel (Peach) McDonald, son, Kevin MacDonald, daughter-in-law, Darlene (Clifton) MacDonald, daughters, Kathy MacDonald and Karen Harvey; also seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. <br /> <br />Garfield MacDonald was married to Frances MacMaster MacDonald in 1947. <br /> <br />He was a Salesman for H.Y. Louie, Wholesale Grocery Company for over forty years. He volunteered for RCMP Auxiliary and then joined the RCMP Reserve Force and was a life member of the Vancouver Division of the RCMP Veterans Association. <br /> <br />Thank you to the staff at The Waterford Residence. <br /> <br />Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church, 3900 Arthur Drive, Delta, BC; reception following service. <br /> <br />Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Covenant House, 575 Drake Street, Vancouver, BC &ndash; V6B 4K8, a sanctuary for homeless youth. <br /> <br /> <br /></div>
