CYR, Clifford Joseph

It is with great sadness, but with a celebration of a life well lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Clifford Cyr. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. His loving wife of 49 years, Eleanor, and mother of their children predeceased him in May 2000. Cliff leaves behind his children, Bob, Bill (Diane), Donna-Marie (Rider), his brother Gene (Darlene), six granddaughters, Melanie, Stephanie, Jennifer, Ashleigh, Danielle and Kaitlin and two great granddaughters, Isla and Aubrey. In 2003, Cliff married his second wife, Irene, who passed away in February 2012. Cliff treasured the time spent with Eleanor’s siblings, Bert, Sid and Shirley and their families.

Cliff was the patriarch in family circles and a well known logger. While working in the forest industry and raising his family in Nimpkish and Squamish, he led a wonderful life, full of family gatherings, sing-a-longs and love. Cliff was an excellent athlete, playing professional football, and having fun water skiing, hiking, golfing and tennis. He greatly enjoyed travelling in his truck and trailer, with many winters spent in Arizona.

Visitation and Prayers for Clifford will be held on Thursday, February 19 at 7:00pm in the Chapel of Sacred Heart Parish, 3900 Arthur Drive, Ladner BC. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 20 at 11:00am in Sacred Heart Church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Parkinson’s Society Canada www.parkinson.bc.ca or BC Children’s Hospital www.bcchf.ca.
